He presented a gun at the cops from underneath a blanket.

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Mike Bush has held a press conference
at the Murray River Road property where fugitive Dezi Freeman was shot dead
in a stand-off with police.
He said police used every tool at their disposal to end things peacefully,
and that Freeman pointed a firearm at police before he was killed.

They'll make a statue in Victoria of him, just like Buckethead.

Ned was different:

Ned Kelly (1854–1880) was a notorious Australian bushranger and bank robber who
led his gang in major raids against the National Bank in Euroa (1878) and Jerilderie (1879).
Known for wearing homemade iron armour, he became a symbol of resistance against
colonial authorities before his capture at Glenrowan and subsequent hanging in 1880.
