There are over 700 species of Eucalypt but Koalas only eat about 40 of them and their food source is continually being destroyed.

I thought they were incredibly valuable if sold for zoos overseas?
It seems to me that money could be made by capturing them and selling them?

They should be protected and respected here, where they belong, in their own habitat instead of sold off and put in enclosures in foreign countries.

Because they don't eat anything and everything Koalas in enclosures here need their food brought in daily. How can they survive overseas without an abundance of the food they need to survive?

Plenty of Koalas survive well overseas as suitable gum trees for food grow there too.

My comment was from the POV that anything is better than killing them.

The specific Eucalyptus Koalas eat are only native to Australia. Sure some of the 700 Eucalyptus species are grown overseas but which other countries grow these specific species? None I'd think.

Most people think any old Eucalyptus will do ... but it won't.

I agree with you however if they shot any healthy Koalas it's not only immoral and cruel -
it's like throwing diamonds or lumps of gold into the rubbish bin -
those animals are very valuable for overseas sales.
