Plush Aussie koala and kangaroo toys sold under the iconic “Australian Made” label have actually been made in China and shipped to Sydney where their tags are swapped.mellie wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 12:14 pmYes, China has a significant koala population, notably in Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park, which boasts the world's largest koala population outside of Australia. The park has been home to over 60 koalas, spanning multiple generations.
Perhaps they didn't want anymore?

Where do the Greens stand on this Koala genocide?
Labors own Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan ordered the hit.
Interestingly, no far-left protesting going on, not even a murmer.
Too busy following Peter Dutton around during his election campaign no doubt.

Not a murmur from Parks Victoria either.
It's speculated that logging has resulted in this koala population boom, however no comments are forthcoming from the Greens.
Kanawinka has a special cultural meaning for Australians, all Australians, " Land of tomorrow ".
I'm sure China agrees
Anyone recognise the burnt cadaverous stench of Leftard hypocrisy here?
Green when it suits them, tho red on the inside like all communists.
Watermelons.

It seems to me that money could be made by capturing them and selling them?
They should be protected and respected here, where they belong, in their own habitat instead of sold off and put in enclosures in foreign countries.
Because they don't eat anything and everything Koalas in enclosures here need their food brought in daily. How can they survive overseas without an abundance of the food they need to survive?
Plenty of Koalas survive well overseas as suitable gum trees for food grow there too.
My comment was from the POV that anything is better than killing them.
Most people think any old Eucalyptus will do ... but it won't.
I appreciate your point but the only way to ensure their survival is to protect them, and specifically their habitat, here.
I agree with you however if they shot any healthy Koalas it's not only immoral and cruel -
it's like throwing diamonds or lumps of gold into the rubbish bin -
those animals are very valuable for overseas sales.
We seem to have borrowed from American movie propaganda -
that every problem can be solved with a gun.

Yet Labor pretends it's caring. Sigh.
I wonder how voters might feel about voting GALP if the man on the television had told them this before they headed to the polls to vote?
