https://7news.com.au/news/wa/perth-trad ... -c-2236437Tradesmen were allegedly bashed by students during a visit to a Perth school in a wild rampage live-streamed via social media.
The brutal and destructive attack, which can be seen in the clip above, left staff and innocent students in tears and hiding under their desks in Rockingham.
The violence, live-streamed on Instagram allegedly saw high school students trade blows with tradies.
The classroom chaos broke out just after lunchtime on Tuesday at SMYL Community College in Rockingham.
It is currently unknown just how the brawl started.
In the clip, two tradesmen appear to be surrounded by as many as ten students.
The school’s staff try to intervene but like the tradesmen - they’re outnumbered.
Students and teachers are then forced to hide under desks and lock themselves in classrooms as the rampage continues, inside and out.
School equipment is also destroyed and a ute’s windscreen shattered in the confronting clip.
Witnesses told 7NEWS - as the fight wound down - three students managed to scale a double-story fence and escape to the main road by sprinting through surrounding businesses.
SMYL confirmed it was “aware of a serious incident” and “disciplinary action” had been taken against several students “including suspension”.
It said was working to help other students - and teachers - left traumatised by the day’s events.
What sort of 'community college' is this? Teachers hiding under desks? Suspension isn't good enough. Apparently this is a last resort college for disruptive and violent students. I'd say they blew their last chance and rightly so.
