The Catholic Church claims to be the only way to reach God. Over the centuries they have used their organization to control the people and they have changed their ways at the behest of powerful governments to get along. I just don't understand them.
I see this applying to many religions, especially Islam. Each denomination or "faith" claims to be the gospel on metaphysics and "God". Because of this unyielding, fanatical belief they shun people who don't subscribe.
What I'd like to know is, how many people (in high places) actually
believe in their faith? Or are they just taking the piss and wearing their chosen religion as a costume to make themselves look good? Are they deliberately doing this so they can keep getting away with molesting children?

You know, Tex a lot of what is said about the Catholic Church is true. However, a lot that is said about Catholics is false. Catholics don't owed fealty to the Church first and foremost, which I understand a lot of Protestant believers believe. Indeed, I was rather surprised to hear that JFK had to make a statement denying he owed allegiance to anything other than the US constitution when he was running for el Presidente'. I wonder, have you ever been in a Catholic church? Attended Mass?
Only for a funeral mass after my friends were killed by an illegal alien drunk driving. Now the Catholic church supports illegal immigration over the rule of law.
I suspected as much. Spoken to many Catholics about their faith?
You're really desperate to pick a fight, aren't you?
I'm surprised you're sticking up for the Catholics. Where are they on the oppression scale? Above Jews, but below Islam?
Texan has already stated from the first that he doesn't judge ALL catholics. Grow up.

That's where Catholicism is different than almost all protestant churches. Most protestant churches are independently owned. The churches support their convention because they have the same beliefs, but if the convention or the church changes their beliefs so that they don't agree they can go their separate ways. Sometimes the conventions split over doctrine and the churches pick sides. The convention is just a means of combining resources to do the most good. The only protestant denomination that I know of as centrally owned are the Lutherans.
The basics of most protestant organization doctrines are the same, but there are many gray areas that are open to interpretation. Most protestants recognize these gray areas and don't claim absolute authority for their opinion of interpretation. We agree to disagree and recognize that in America we have freedom of religion and let each other practice as they see fit.

It looks like one of "Father Rudy's" mates has been found. The Catholic church only recently defrocked this guy. This was after moving him around the US and allowing him to use a different name. Maybe he and Rudy can share a cell.

From the article:
Brown told the detective that the child was “fascinated” by him, “sat in my lap” and “was aggressively all over me,” the warrant says.
Yes, it's the victims fault. She was willingly being a "cock-tease" at the age of six.
And people want to pander to these dropkicks with "child sex dolls" and VR simulation games?
Yeah, nah. HANG EM AND HANG EM HIGH.

Jesus Christ! He’s seeing the innate playfulness of a 6 year old as sexual. Sick fuck. “Normal” adults would not see that behaviour in a six year old as “sexual”.
These people cannot be cured.

It's like a different spin on say, rapists who claim that a woman "deserved" it because they were wearing a sexy outfit.. or Indian rapists using "culture" as an excuse; if she's showing a bit of skin, she
must be asking for it.
Either way, I know of one cure - a bullet to the head.
