At the risk of being hounded down.

I don't think guns, knives or other weapons are the problem.
Honestly.

The problem is society, the lack of adequate mental health resources and people giving into stress to the point that they see no solution.
Drugs play a part as well
Add these all togheter and mix it up with a feeling of out of control and you have a bomb waiting to go off.

We, as a society, have become isolated we don't know or even see our neighbours and would be hard pressed to know if they were in trouble.

Sometimes, even a simple conversation, a shoulder or a cup of tea makes all the difference in the world.

I know only 3 or 4 people in my street
My wife knows everyone, their kids, what they like and even how they feel.
It's not unusual for me to come home to
"Mrs Smith, up the road needs her front door fixed, it's sticking"
And off I go to fix a door, a tap, a light or even program a new TV.

And when my wife had her knees replaced 2 years ago
Everyone came to visit.

She does it without thinking.

Just a thought.

When I was growing up in country NSW there was a sort of code of conduct and self policing.

What I mean is, we never rang the cops unless it was really bad. The community, and I mean men who were pretty hard, would go sort out someone who was behaving out of line. Often verbal or a quick slap to let them know their behavior will not be tolerated. this was very effective.

Today, this would be consider assault and taking the law into our own hands. The cops had no problem with it. Since it was the protocol not to go to the cops, there was no formal complaints to them.

Today we tend to not have strong local community bonds... we work, we come home, we go out again, well not like the old days. We have distrust of everyone, we lock our doors, we don't let kids play in he streets for fear of them beign kidnapped or abused... we have a self inflicted culture of fear and distrust. We call the cops to sort all our problems out. Those in need of help or who are going off the rails are not pulled back until they have gone too far. We only rely on the law to sort them out... after a major crime is committed.

We are going the wrong way.... i cannot figure out why really. And it is not immigration... the wogs followed the same rules.

Respectfully disagree. I deal with white trash everyday in a regional country town with no wogs.

And their breeding at a rapid rate of knots. Not saying immigration isn’t a problem. It’s just not all the problem.

More than likely very true but I am only going on Sydney and the problems in Sydney most definitely stem from immigration. Plenty of white trash in Sydney too but they are mainly just idiot ice addicts who have no idea about parenting let alone working.

The immigrants (mainly Muzzos) are the ones with the knives and guns though and they use them daily. They also have no clue what a job is either.

goin g back to when I first arrived in OZ...

I can see a massive change and not for the better.....

it was so innocent back then...when I think about it....

then suddenly we decided to catch up with the outside world....

in some things we became a leader.... how proud we were of our drinking records....

we even elected a PM whos only claim to fame was his drinking record....

to me a sadness has crept into our wellbeing as a nation....we barely look out for ourselves let a lone each other...

look at road rage for instance....wont be long before someone is killed for daring to cut in...

we cant and shouldnt blame others finding a solution might be better...
