In a landmark 60 Minutes exclusive, Detective Damien Hansen from Queensland Police Homicide revealed how a dogged police investigation saw the lies of child killer, Rick Thorburn, finally unravel.

Foster child Tiahleigh Palmer had been living in the care of the Thorburn family for less than year when she was murdered.

Her body was found near naked, washed up on the banks of the Pimpama River in November 2015.
Rest of the story here https://www.9news.com.au/national/2018/ ... ult-murder

But I would like to know why her body was near naked when found? The sex that apparently took place between the son and Tiahleigh was a week before!

I read that she was smothered in her bed so she might have been wearing just a Summer nighty or shorty PJs, so she wasn't fully clothed.

it was awful watching 60 min....so many many awful avoidable mistakes.....

the birth mother didnt convince me at all...it was hard to believe she was Tiahleighs real mother...

I can never figure out why these kids end up in fostercare??...dont they have extended families?...

I do know as a grandparent no one would ever get one of my grandkids....and I mean NO ONE...

childhood means everything to me no adult has the right to steal it ..

I can never stop thinking.. what state these children were in in their last moments.....

sorry but the punishment is never enough!

I gather that the Mother was a drug addict and Tiahleigh was taken off her. Why the Grandmother didn't intervene, who knows, maybe she wasn't capable of looking after the kid? Sadly, it is too late now!
