Actually no, we do have mile after mile of beautiful golden ocean beaches, stretching away for miles to both the north and south, completely uninhabited. No roads into the places. Seems the early settlers said to themselves "look at those fantastic beaches - let's build a settlement in a muddy, sandfly-infested mangrove swamp around the corner."

Beach culture has come a long way.
