SBS needs a

Post by Black Orchid » Sat Aug 15, 2015 7:39 pm

SBS is considering a television program starring convicted criminal Zaky Mallah, a move that could place it on a collision course with the Abbott government.

A proposal for the SBS show The Feed has been drawn up and filming is scheduled to begin as early as this Wednesday.

SBS managing director Michael Ebeid last night confirmed that the proposal for the show with Mallah was being considered. “There is a proposal floating around but no filming confirmed yet,” Mr Ebeid said.

“And yes I am aware they are throwing around a few ideas.”

Mallah, who was imprisoned for threatening to kill ASIO officers, caused a controversy when he appeared in the live studio audience on the ABC’s Q&A in June and was given the opportunity to question an Abbott government minister during a discussion about citizenship laws. The appearance outraged Tony Abbott, who banned his ministers from appearing on the show. That ban was lifted last week when the ABC board moved Q&A from the television department to the news and current affairs division, subjecting it to tougher standards.

Apparently this is not going ahead now but why was it even considered? Hard to imagine what motivates those at SBS and ABC. Their purse strings should be severed.

Something about freedom of speech, and Abbott getting over the huge pole up his arse?

Mallot is a huge dickhead, who has a tendency to run off at the mouth. The only thing wrong with his Q&A appearance was that it was live, rather than recorded, so that anything illegal could be edited out.
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."
