My wife is "my woman" and she has no problem with the expression. She refers to me as "her man" and I have no problem with the expression.

Originally I was pretty pleased that no one had mentioned Mundine. I wasn't going to.
Then this popped up.
I still wasn't going to post here as a matter of principle. I don't believe anything he says should be given any credence, at any level.

But Mundine has apologised on TV. He should apologise to all of us for having to listen to any of his moronic rantings, because that is what they are.

The guy is PART Aboriginal.
The guy is a Muslim... can't be that many Aboriginal Muslims around. I wonder if being a real Muslim would negate being a real Aboriginal. After all Islam is a way of life not simply a religion.

When Mundine used to visit NSW gaols he used to ignore his aboriginal brothers and spend time with his Muslim brothers. But he's not about to mention that. He's had a chip on his shoulder since he was a kid playing football. He blamed Laurie Daley for his missing out on national selection and labelled him a racist. Yet Laurie has indigenous heritage just like Mundine. When he chucked a dummy spit and left football for boxing he decided to model himself on Mohamed Ali (B4 becoming a Muslim) so we suddenly had the brash big mouthed moron we have today, calling himself THE MAN, as Ali was called. It didn't seem to register in his tiny little brain that he was creating a persona that would clash with the majority Australians and their idea of what a sportsman should be. It didn't register that the American way was not the Australian way. i remember his outbursts about 9/11 and his latest has done nothing to endear him to any sane Australian.

I also agree with Aussie (on a minor point) (who saw that coming )that his use of the term "WOMAN" grates. It is simply another sub-culture Mundine has borrowed from. He used to dress like a "pimp" or wear a baseball cap backwards and his language (such as it is) reflected the the misogyny (there's that word again) and racism of black American ghettos and "gangbangers". Where WOMEN are at best chattels or trophies.

A respectful normal person would have used the term WIFE or referred to her as Mrs Geale.

Mundine's problem is that he's an ignorant fool. He will never gain Australia's love and support as a sportsman because the vast majority of us are just waiting for him to be knocked out and sat on his arse one more time. Anything to shut him up for a few seconds and give us a bit of peace and satisfaction.
