Journalistic ethics - Aussie reporters beat Itlaian man

Post by AnimalMother » Sun Oct 21, 2012 6:43 am

The ugly Australian abroad:
The father I believe, the grandmother and uncle then tried to get the girls back inside, I mean I've seen photos of this, the father is then attacked by members of the press, apparently kicked. I believe he's got a broken hard, possible broken leg, and severe bruising to his right arm.

It is not old news.

The physical assault on the father is new, and creates a new, disgraceful chapter in the history of Australian journalism.

How often have journalists, anywhere, engaged in a vilent unprovoked mob attack on the subject of their story? Not often as far as I know.

Monday 8th October, 2012. Today is......................??????

I hate the Media and their methods with an unbridled passion............but there is no evidence whatsoever that the Media attacked the Father as described.

Way too many 'apparentlies' and 'I believe.'

My own personal hope is that the allegations of Media/Press physical assault on the Father are true, so that this becomes another illustration of why the Media/Press need restraining, big time.

A private dispute turned national spectacular
"Sophie Walsh: Given what we’ve seen today it would seem this case still has a very long way to go until it is resolved.
— Channel Nine, Weekend Today, 7th October, 2012"

...with the Australian media, helped by the mother, milking every extra day of these children’s distress.
Frankly, it’s a disgrace.
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."

I saw that Media Watch programme live, but AM has introduced this suggestion of what can only be a very violent physical assault on the Father by Journalists.

One version concludes with:
Paul Donnelly: Apparently one of the older girls had a mobile phone, she made a call to Australia, she received a call back, with that her and her sister then ran out of the front yard of the villa, pleading for the press to help them.
Another with:
The father I believe, the grandmother and uncle then tried to get the girls back inside, I mean I’ve seen photos of this, the father is then attacked by members of the press, apparently kicked. I believe he’s got a broken hand, possible broken leg, and severe bruising to his right arm.
Both versions have the same alleged source..................Paul Donnelly, the Father's Lawyer.

In a bitter custody dispute with obvious violence committed allegedly by Australian journolists, who better to respond?

Did you expect the journos who seem to very close to the criminal mother to detail their alleged assault?

Well, Aussie, if you think the ABC is flat-out lying, feel free to say so.

I am not very trusting of the ABC myself, with their leftist bias and all. They do slant and exaggerate stories almost beyond recognition sometimes.

But I haven't yet seen the ABC just making up something out of nowhere. If you have evidence that this is a fabricated story, you should submit it to 'your ABC'.

It is not the ABC who is the public source of the allegation. It is the Father's Lawyer, Paul Donnelly. No-one else (that I can find) has said anything about Journalists physically assaulting the Father. If it really happened, it would be all over the place...................other than at Channell 9 et al.
