I haven't bet on the Melbourne Cup for many years. Is it still called the Emirates Melbourne Cup? :b

Maybe Billy can give us a tip.

Like many years, this year its a raffle...so many overseas horses that are much better than our
second rate stayers...
I liked the favourite until I saw the barrier draw...might get cluttered up on the fence...but then
again might not....the way it won the Caulfield Cup was awesome....
Ill stick to the favourite Mer De Glase and hope it stays out of trouble....
Good luck if youre having a bet...many many chances.....

Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

Thanks but the favourite pays the least and seldom ever wins a Melbourne Cup.

Finche is now the new favourite...the other thing is easing due to the soft track...still a raffle....
Been years since I had a bet in the MC....Id prefer to bet in a race with less than 24 runners....
My only bet for the day is in a Gold Coast maiden.....

I used to get excited about the MC when I was young but not anymore. I think 3200 metres is too long. Aussie horses are being nudged out of the lineup because of greed, there are way too many foreign horses running and the poor things get chucked onto a plane to fly God knows how many hours around the globe, have to acclimate to our weather and conditions and then run for 3.2 kms battling a field of 24. The name isn't even our own anymore.

I didn't even watch it last year.
