The Russian game.... penalty shoot out. The goal keeper saved the last one by a quick raise of his leg.... he is a hero.

In Warsaw and watched the game... no Russian supporters here.

I know absolutely nothing about "soccer" but have a friend who follows it. He actually went to South Africa in 2010 to see it! I presume that he has been watching it "live" on Foxtel?

World Cup: Russia celebrates after shock win over Spain keeps hosts' dream alive

Updated about 8 hours ago

Moscow has erupted in street celebrations as the World Cup hosts booked a place in the quarter-finals, defeating Spain on penalties at Russia's flagship stadium.

Russia had already defied expectations by reaching the World Cup last 16 for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union, but after victory over Spain, fans now believe the tournament's lowest-ranked team could go all the way.
