Yeah, pretty soon we ladies of America are gonna have to march and protest to demand the right to our own vaginas again, the way things are going. A sad state of affairs here, really.

Our Republican party here keeps wanting to reverse our abortion rights, even for women who are pregnant from rape or incest, and even for young girls and women whose foetus is deformed or in the process of aborting itself naturally.

They would have it so that abortion is illegal no matter what the circumstances, and doctors and surgeons could go to prison for aborting a woman who is bleeding to death in the emergency room.

They would even have it so that the woman herself could be prosecuted for murder if she has a abortion, or even if she miscarries and some prosecutor rules that suspicious.

Can you imagine what things would be like if we had to return to the laws of the sixties again? Backstreet abortions, bleeding to death in an alleyway or at home.

Severe infections, blood poisoning, emergency surgery, and then the possibility of prosecution afterward.

We can't tolerate laws like that. A woman has a right to her own body, and medical decisions must always be decided between a woman and her doctor, not some religious nutbag lawmaker.

This is what I dislike most about American political party's, the far left and far right... one extreme to the other, with very little common sense in between.

I don't think nature ever intended that young girls who fall prey to their own incestuous fathers perversions should be forced to give birth to their own siblings.

... And it disturbs me to think that anyone, let alone those in a position of power would think otherwise.

The number of DIY abortions is on the rise in the USA b/c the number of abortion providers is on the decrease as conservative-controlled state legislatures enact laws that restrict reproductive rights. These same legislatures enhance gun ownership rights at every turn.

Okay. So I am no fan of the GOP. But they are absolutely not suggesting hospital abortion should be prosecuted as murder, and they have never suggested mothers who miscarry should be prosecuted. You are exaggerating, and this exaggeration only harms the liberal cause.

Tony Abbott - leader of the opposition is also against abortion. When he was health minister under John Howard - he introduced an abortion hotline run by the Catholic Church. He also suggested that babies could be adopted rather than aborted. That's all very well and good from a moral and religious perspective, but it isn't realistic. It would be no surprise to see him reintroduce his beliefs by attempting to outlaw abortion clinics if he became primeminister.
