Australia has/had their own lingerie league but organisers had to cancel it and refund all the tickets sales because they could not get television coverage.

I've never understood the State of Origin thing.
I was brought up in Victoria when football was called Aussie Rules and I didn't even take any notice of that either. My father didn't follow "football" so, perhaps, that is the reason.
REAL football, according to some, is what we call SOCCER. They really do use their FEET in that game and their hands come nowhere near the BALL.
Rugby = baggy pants, thick legs, hugging team mates and running with ball then making little mounds to put ball ready to kick for a goal.
Aussie rules = tight pants, tall, slim guys, no hugging but lots of running with the ball and high kicks to get a goal.
Soccer = short guys who can kick a ball without using their hands.
