Normally I do like to watch the Olympics (Winter and Summer) and Commonwealth Games but I don't have the Sports Channel on Foxtel and because I am in Canberra, Foxtel only has ABC and SBS, not Channels 7,9,10. I did call Foxtel and ask why and they said "because Canberra doesn't have a local Office/relay station or whatever for those Channels" ... so swapping from AV to TV (and back) is a pain in the butt, especially due to SOUND! :rofl

Yes, but if you have Foxtel, you need to go out of AV and into TV (via the remote) to access the FTA channels (except for ABC and SBS). The change over is quite easy ... provided you remember to turn Foxtel to MUTE and turn the TV down to almost zero .... otherwise you will blast your eardrums .... it is just a pain in the arse to watch Channels 7, 9 and 10 when you live in Canberra and mostly watch Foxtel. In other words, I have 2 remote controls ... 1 for Foxtel and the other for FTA channels. Mostly I leave it on Foxtel, since I pay $115 a month for the "service".

Personally I think Foxtel is a huge ripoff.

Netflix has bought most of the shows Foxtel had, as their contracts are up. There is a massive selection and it's only $11 per month. Plus all you have to do is go to SOURCE on the remote and click up or down to DTV, HDMI 1, HDMI 2 etc.

If I can't get what I want on Netflix I just download it :geek:

Yes, I know. I've had Foxtel for about 8 years. Initially it was free from ads but that didn't last long. The main thing I like is that I can record programs and watch them later and fast forward through the ads. Plus I have an extra TV in my bedroom so I can watch stuff from there too. My set up is what I like ... can't be bothered trying to save a few dollars ... it IS only money. ;)

Winter Olympics: Australia's Scotty James takes bronze in men's halfpipe, Shaun White wins gold
Australia's Scotty James has won a bronze medal in the men's halfpipe at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang after a dramatic contest with Japan's Ayumu Hirano and American Shaun White.

James's best run of 92.00 came in the opening round. He was going well in his final run but fell to finish behind in third position.

I had to go out and missed the final run. Tis a shame Scotty didn't get silver but well done to him. I watched the 1st run but missed the 2nd and 3rd where the Jap overtook him. Shaun White is not only the best in the world but the best of all time.

I am disappointed at the Channel 7 coverage. Last night I wanted to watch the Skeleton and some of the Cross Country but all I got was women's Luge and repeats.

They only seem to cover what they want to? They have 7 and 73 and should be covering it ALL between both channels but they only seem to use 73 as an alternative when the news, Home and Away and MKR are on 7.

Harley Windsor the (part) Aboriginal and his partner are doing really well in the skating so I will be watching them. I hope they get a medal. They are 1st so far I think? Not sure as I have been out for most of the day.

Will 7 get exclusive coverage of the Commonwealth Games up on the Gold Coast in April? That I do want to follow.
