Currently beating Chinese Taipei 5-0
Good to see...
Ok. Now 6-0
...see that it's a winning team Allround with good subs too.
No longer dominated by some lone star who thinks she's a man.
The crowd looks almost full house.
I'm a fan. They're certainly better performers than the male Socceroos.

I love the Matildas and they played well. Mary Fowler was out and Sam Kerr will be back. Funnily enough they've had the most following since the absence of Kerr.
I used to love the Socceroos too but I don't know who any of them are nowadays and I hate the way they call them the Subway Socceroos. Sponsors shouldn't have their name included. They're the Socceroos, NOT the Subway Socceroos.
Like when they ruined the Melbourne Cup by calling it the Emirites Melbourne Cup. It's the 'Australian' Melbourne Cup and should only be called the Melbourne Cup period.

I totally agree. Imagine the Toyota Bathurst 1000 or the Qantas America's Cup??
I think Kerr undermines the Mathildas as a whole. It's a team sport, not an individual sport like tennis or golf. See how well they've been playing as a team without her. Sure, some individuals can win it, like Messi and Pele. But the odds are always stacked in favour of a team that plays as a team equally.
Kerr doesn't always fire. She was a flop in the final WC game here for the Mathildas. All that they had to do was put pressure on Kerr alone and the match was won.
Last night showed the Mathildas have many good players, not just one.

Me too. She's running on past fame now.

Not a fan, I must me a bit sexist. I can't see the point in handing out free stadium tickets or 50% off to get bums on seats to create the illusion a game or sport of any kind is more desirable than it really is. I actually like soccer, just prefer watching guys play it.
I do however think good on them for having a go, and I pretended to be excited for my daughter’s sake when we watched it together.
A sport needs to be like anything else, sustainable, I hope that Australians get behind it and keep it going, and then inspire future natural females to play.
