With the AFL football and rugby competitions coming to a close, five of WA's leading sporting women are demanding their teams get a fairer go.

Players for the WA Diamonds, which has won five of the past eight Australian Hockey League titles, pay an entry fee to represent WA while the Western Fury and West Coast Waves players only get an "allowance" on working or travelling days.

The Sunday Times this week brought five leaders of WA's premier women's teams together for the first time to discuss the issues plaguing their sports. "
