Aussie,

Look at Brazil. 3 Gold 5 Silver 9 Bronze. I am sure they will spend lots of money for the 2016 Olympics and get lots of Gold medals.

Their population is around 200 million, national language is Portuguese. Not sure what percentage speak American English.

When the Aussie Olympic Committee or whatever it is called, decided to PAY Gold medalists $25 grand it became a farce. I thought only America did this but read recently that ALL countries pay winners a fee. Geeze. No wonder some of the teenage swimmers had a few tears. If you are 17-21, 25 grand CASH is a fortune. New CAR at the very least ... for swimming 50/100 metres very fast?

Sure there will aways be cheats. Not just is Sport either, mind you.

That seriously understates the real, gut wrenching and grueling effort and is insulting to all Olympians who put in that, and more effort at great sacrifice to their personal, and in most cases, family life. It take years to get there, and only milli-seconds ultimately decide one's fate. Pearson, as I said, got there by a boob.....in fact, it was more like a nipple. That takes years Neferti and $25,000 is chicken feed.

Aussie,

For someone whose only comment while the Olympics was ON (as in progress) was Pearson almost done in by a boob.
I think you have a bloody cheek to carry on now about the $25 grand they could have got if they had swum a second faster.

Personally, I think we should sack the MEDIA re commenting prior (and definitely during) anything like the Olympics and football. We, who are watching know the rules otherwise we wouldn't be following the Team! I watch sport on mute. It's the only way.

Talking heads are the most irritating of people. The kids who went to the Olympics did their best ...... parents who push children also need to be available for professional help on their return to Australia.

Aussie's constant reference to boobs and female body parts start me wondering who really is the sex obsessed here in this forum. He doth protest too much sometimes.

25 gold and a total of 69 medals. It's a shame a lot of us seem to forget them

Well done

I was listening on ABC Morning that the Para Olympics has been rating extremely well. The crowds in the stadiums have been huge.

Understandable you can relate easier to the participants, being mentally challenged yourself.

Shame they don't have drooling races- you'd be a sure thing.
Maybe they could introduce an Aussie goatse stretch just for you?
Biggest diameter wins? You would be unbeatable...and the only contestant
