https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-ne ... V9ARP.htmlThe army on Sunday confirmed that a heated confrontation took place between Indian and Chinese soldiers in north Sikkim on Saturday, resulting in injuries to troops on both sides.
The army statement came on a day Hindustan Times reported that scores of Indian and Chinese soldiers were involved in a tense face-off at Naku La in Sikkim and the scuffle left 11 soldiers injured.
“Incident of face-off as referred to in the (HT) article did take place. Aggressive behaviour by the two sides resulted in minor injuries to troops,” the statement said.
The army said “temporary and short duration face-offs” between border guarding troops do occur as boundaries are not resolved. The statement said two sides disengaged after dialogue and interaction at local level. “Troops resolve such issues mutually as per established protocols,” the statement added.
Four Indian and seven Chinese soldiers were injured during the confrontation that involved around 150 soldiers.
The Asian giants have a long-standing border dispute that led to a war in 1962. The festering feud causes around 400 face-offs every year along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The face-off at Naku La was not the first time Indian and Chinese soldiers got into a fistfight. In August 2017, Indian and Chinese soldiers threw stones at each other and also exchanged blows near Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
Maybe they were just throwing stones at each other again

Expansionist China is pushing the boundaries everywhere they can ... but there's a global backlash coming over China hiding the danger of CV19 and sending its citizens out to infect the world.
I suspect if countries start putting a Corona Virus tax/import duty on Chinese goods, China will cry foul at the WTO, and the rest of the world can say "So what!?" ... China is yet to abide by WTO rules, or any rules of any international organisation it's signed up to.
China's working hard to become a pariah state.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Re: China and India face off at Naku La Pass
In 1961 India laid claim to a valley, north of Ladahk whichh is on their north western border with Tibet. Their claim was on the basis of a map that the British Raj had created which it had used in negotiations with the Tibetans back in the 1890s. It was a lie. The valley in question was always Tibetan. The PRC moved to eject india's small forces from Chinese territory. They were successful. India responded by seizing a small slice of land on it's north eastern border with Tibet. They still hold that piece of land. It was where this "conflict" and the previous one took place. Technically, the Indians and the Chinese are still at war, as a peace treaty was never concluded. In this case, it is the Indians who are being expansionist. Tsk, tsk.

The Assam valley is a problem for both of them. There are over 10,000,000 muslims in the Assam valley.

Bengali Muslims in Assam have faced repeated and increased Islamophobic attacks.[14] In 1983, around 3000 Bengali-speaking Muslims were killed in the Nellie massacre.[15]
During the 2012 Assam violence there was communal riot between Bangladeshi origin Muslim and indigenous Bodo people.[16] Indian Hindu nationalist politicians have accused Bangladesh of trying to expand its territory by ostensibly promoting illegal immigration. However, Indian government census reports note a decline in immigration from Bangladesh between 1971 and 2011.[13][17]
In 2019 the government of India passed the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 which concorded citizenship to non Muslim minorities from the neighbouring Muslim majority countries of India. This sparked Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Assam.
Islam is the second largest religious group in Assam, forming approximately 34%. The only "problem" appears to be Islamophobia stoked by Hindu politicians. China has not problem with Assam. It appears to me that your Islamophobia is showing, Black Orchid.

It has a problem with Uighurs. It doesn't have a problem with Muslims. There are large areas of the PRC which have Muslim populations. Uighurs are only a majority in Xinjiang province. As usual, your Sinophobia blinds you to the reality of what is happening in the PRC.northofnorth wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 2:25 pmThat's a good one! The CCP doesn't have a problem with Muslims!!! Yes... Of course... The CCP has a big problem with Falun Gong and Christianity in China... But no problem with Islam and Muslims within China... For an old man, you don't seem to comprehend much...
