You have to pick a side. Fence sitting does nobody any good. If you want to run the US out of your country, that's your right. We'll let you defend yourself.
Our politicians kiss everyones arse...the peasants are just collateral damage....
They have sold just as much of the farm to China as they have to the USA...
"We'll let you defend yourself..." once again the condescension blatantly appears.....

It's just fact, Billy. Who else is ever going to defend us from the Chinese and that day will certainly come?

Australians are just pawns in the political struggle between the USA and China...purely and simply because
of our geographical location on the globe...
My bitch is Americas condescension to Australian citizens...and Chinas blatant ownership of our politicians...
Australian citizens are being conned whilst America and China laugh at us.....

It's not condescension. It's the way it has to be. Why would anybody want an ally that they can't depend on. America can't afford to be the World's police. It just leads to accusations of being overbearing and being resented by all involved. If any country doesn't want to work with us for mutual benefit, I have no problem with our troops coming home to secure our own border. In fact, I have a personal stake in the support of our troops overseas.

Your politicians are screwing you over. They won't let you defend yourself personally and they have you afraid to pick a side because the other side won't like it on a national level. Your military aligns with the US, but your immigration and education systems seem to be more and more influenced by the Chinese and Africans. That's who I hear you talking about in your country most.

I don't see the condescension at all but I wouldn't blame them if it were true because too many Aussies are just outright rude towards them for no reason.

I've been on the net for many years and Aussies, by far, are the rudest and most arrogant lot I have ever encountered.

I am happy for those who cheer for China to go and live there though.

If you feel the need to pick a side, just look at Korea. North Korea supports China and South Korea supports America. Where would you rather live.

You have another option. It's pretty extreme, but isolationism is an option. Kick everybody out and you do you. You might like the results. I'm pretty jealous that America isn't an island.

Australia is sold to the highest bidder.....
The federal government has been doing it for decades...as have all the state governments....
Australians cop in on the chin purely and simply because the average peasant is too docile and dumbed
down to do anything else...
America has thousands of military bases all over the world as they perform their duties as the "world sheriff"
Or should I say, the rest of the world is conned into believing that this is necessary by a corrupt to the core
Washington.
Your posts continue to drip with supercilious condescension.."if any country doesnt want to work with us for mutual benefit...."
Gimme a break..mutual benefit....the only benefit is for the USA....hence the need to expand the American empire
throughout the world...
Read your history books...America is crumbling before your eyes...but no-one will admit it.....
America is a war mongering nation and has been since the 1940s....nothing changes....
You people will be at war with China before you know it and your corrupt politicians will convince
all of you that "its necessary...."
I didnt come down on a barrow of turnips Tex........

Our politicians have screwed us over since Federation (1901 for the ignorant). In 1939 we believed what the British promised us, "in case the Japanese attacked", they would rush all forces possible to us to defend Singapore, the supposed "Gibraltar of the far east." Well that didn't happen and so we turned to the USA. Well, the USA didn't exactly rush all that much to defend us but they rushed some. We then, in response to the US and the UK in 1943 and the Cairo Conference and it's non-inclusion of either Canberra and Wellington and it's announcements created the "ANZAC Pact" with the New Zealanders and we set out our views on how we expected the South Pacific to be ordered.

This upset London and Washington who had failed to recognise we were self-governing, independent states and expect us to accept what ever they had announced. In 1951 we signed the ANZUS treaty where the US, wanting a "soft peace" with Japan said they would protect us if things go hot again in our region. Except they didn't. They actually said we would have a conference if any of our or their forces or territory was attacked. Well, we asked if they were willing to back us over West New Guinea in 1959 and they declined 'cause they needed Indonesian OK to sail their SLBM submarines through the archipelago to attack central Russia.

So, we responded, 'cause we thought that Washington was more interested in Indonesia than us, by going to war in Vietnam. Indeed we were so frightened that we felt the US favouritism was coming true that when Indonesia invaded East Timor, with American agreement, that we then went to war in Cambodia and Somalia and it continues to this day, with out willingness to pay our "insurance premium" in blood that we have willingly gone to war in Afghanistan and Iraq (twice) and it looks likely in the South China Sea.

However this isn't all your fault, Tex. It's own fault 'cause we lacked faith in ourselves. We lacked faith that we could defend ourselves. Our politicians screwed us over right and proper. We got what we deserved. Doesn't matter what party they come from, they just surrendered to first London and then Washington. Shame on us. :roll :roll

Asia Pacific 'tensions' suggest coronavirus 'might not be the worst thing on the radar'

24/04/2020|9min

Liberal Senator Jim Molan says the coronavirus has heightened “tensions” at play between China and surrounding Asian nations and Australia should be prepared for any conflict which might arise in the near future.

Mr Molan said “the strategic environment which creates conflict, creates wars, creates challenges and creates competition was pretty savage prior to the fires and the outbreak of the coronavirus”.

“My concern is that we run the risk of addressing the issues that come out of coronavirus in relation to the strategic environment merely as economic issues” and without reference to the equally important issues of “self-reliance and sovereignty,” he told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.

According to Mr Molan, “China seems to be on the edge of conflict with Vietnam, the Phillipines and Malaysia and is in a tense situation with the United States”.

“Ships are sailing through various oceans to our north which are primed for war,” he said.

“If we think coronavirus following the fires is the worst thing that can happen to us, that is not the case”.

Mr Molan said there were good reasons to prepare for war in the same way we would prepare for a future pandemic.
