Buy California from Trump – Denmark’s Next Big Adventure

A Danish activist has launched an online crowdfunding campaign to “buy” California from the United States, presenting the initiative as Denmark’s next great adventure. The campaign, started by Xavier Dutoy, follows recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding his interest in acquiring Greenland, with the activist now proposing that Denmark should counter by acquiring California.

Ecuador is laying the groundwork for the arrival of U.S. forces to better counter armed gangs, an Ecuadorian military source familiar with the plan told CNN. He said the construction of a new naval facility in the coastal city of Manta is part of that preparation, with barracks-style housing and administrative offices designed to support sustained operations and U.S. military personnel. “The expectation is that they will eventually be occupied by U.S. troops,” said the official, who requested anonymity.

President Noboa has made no secret of his intention to welcome foreign troops into Ecuadorian territory to counter the spread of gangs across the country, a request he is expected to reiterate this weekend. Noboa has recently openly called on the United States, Brazil and other European countries to join his war on gangs.
