Trump is winning:

Zelensky surrenders to Trump and 'will sign mineral deal within hours'
22 February 2025
Donald Trump appears to have won his trade standoff with Volodymyr Zelensky, as the Ukrainian president is set to give in and sign a deal giving the U.S. access to deposits of critical minerals.
The deal was seen as crucial for satisfying Washington's demands for a peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia to end their three-year long war.
Zelensky told a nightly video address on Friday that teams of American and Ukrainian negotiators are working on a draft agreement, signaling an imminent deal.
'This is an agreement that can strengthen our relations, and the key is to work out the details to ensure its effectiveness,' he said. 'I look forward to the outcome - a just result.'
It's a staggering surrender by Zelensky, who just days earlier angrily lashed out at Trump saying: 'I can't sell our country.'
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday evening: 'We're signing an agreement, hopefully in the next fairly short period of time.'
A deal could be struck as soon as Saturday, people briefed on negotiations told the Wall Street Journal. The exact terms are not yet clear, however Trump had been pushing for $500 billion worth of minerals in exchange for continued military support.
It comes after Zelensky angered Trump so much during negotiations that the president threatened to completely pull US funding from Ukraine, Axios reported

And what about minerals under Russian occupied land?
I'd love to see the fine print.
The whole thing is a bit immoral -
it was either Russia took all of Ukraine and got all the goodies or now –
the Yanks get all the goodies.
They are carving up a weak country for whatever they can get.

Yes, the Maidan, where democratically elected government was deposited by violence, was immoral. The whole thing is a bit immoral
The destruction of opposition political parties after the immoral Maidan was immoral.
Prohibition of Russian language used by nearly half of population was immoral.
Sending army against Donbass and killing it's children in 2014 was immoral.
But what goes around comes around and now Banderastan Delenda Est.

Putin and Trump are going to divvy up the goodies:
I assume -
Putin gets the rare earths in occupied areas - e.g. the Donbas and
Trump gets the rest in Ukraine.

Zelensky was always a Media orientated leader more than political leader, let alone military leader. He tried hard, but it was an unnatural situation for him. The people loved him, because that's all they had and he used the Media to Ukraine's advantage at least. But he was all about asking for handouts from other nations, especially from Biden (the other Media good in politics). When I was there for a few months. I could easily say it would be safer in the Bronx, than in Kyiv. Luckily I had paid personal security so to speak. A lot of begging, looting and desperate people in Ukraine. So many women with bruises by their partners home on leave and suffering from testosterone aggression overload. War naturally brings out the Savage in men. Only the very professional men in control of their fear from being devoured by their egos, never go Savage.

Hell no!
I was there to serve five Australian Companies and one Canadian Company with my flare of telling the truth in reports, no matter how bad it looks for their interests there. I got paid very well, but in hindsight, it wasn't worth it. Definitely double if I had to go there again for follow up. It was a stressful experience seeing people like that. You think the Trolls are bad.
It's really a cut throat vibe in Ukraine. The people there are still ex-Soviet and I made sure I didn't forget that. They can be a very brutal people. Not what you see in the Media show of smiles for the camera. Crime was rife. If I was a tourist or traveller there, with no paid protection. I would have easily been mugged and my body dumped. If I was lucky, I would have been forcibly scammed of my life's savings by gunpoint.
Despite such brutal savagery. It seemed their only way of resilience and success and I couldn't argue with that considering their country's predicament. I know for a fact that under such similar duress. Australia and Australians at large would capitulate, surrender and die as a whole under such adversity, that's for sure. I met only two Australian Mercs while I was there. They were more like American nutters on some movie experience and I refused to have an 'aussie drink' with them. Which got me a load of profanities in return. Other than that. It is a beautiful country and there are some amazingly good and responsible people there amongst all that chaos.

You're still a hero to go to Ukraine.
You looked death in the face and survived.
