You have no understanding about which you speak, "Nicole". Your ignorance is astounding. Parliament is sovereign. A civil war, a beheading and a revolution have proved that point. What the people want, as expressed in plebiscites, is not a part of that. The peoples' will is expressed through elections.

Boris Johnson will return to Downing Street with a big majority after the Conservatives swept aside Labour in its traditional heartlands.
With just a handful of seats left to declare in the general election, the BBC forecasts a Tory majority of 78.
The prime minister said it would give him a mandate to "get Brexit done" and take the UK out of the EU next month.

Yet here you were cheering for the SSM Plebiscite. According to you now it should be disregarded.brian ross wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 5:11 pmYou have no understanding about which you speak, "Nicole". The people have spoken. I predicted that Boris was likely to win, when he called the election.Nom De Plume wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 6:01 pmSuck it up Brian. My question is why did it take so long to call an election?

Australia is not the UK, Black Orchid. Our Constitution allows plebiscites and referenda. We have a tradition of using them to decide difficult questions, the UK does not. You're not stupid, so why do you keep acting like you are?Black Orchid wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 6:02 pmYet here you were cheering for the SSM Plebiscite. Ummm where exactly did you predict this Brian? I don't recall seeing it. I DO recall you arguing pompously with everyone else who predicted his winning ... and winning a majority.brian ross wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 7:54 pmThe people have spoken.
