Re: Should China be sued ?
There's growing momentum for U.S. companies -- especially pharmaceutical manufacturers -- to pull their factories out of China and return the supply chain to American soil.
It's downright idiotic to allow a communist government like China to make the vast majority of your antibiotics and other vital medical products. And if that point wasn't already clear enough, the Chinese themselves brought it home to Americans by threatening to disrupt supplies. That may prove to be a very costly display of arrogance.

As the war of words between China and the U.S. over COVID-19 heats up, Chinese state media have raised the specter of using Beijing’s pharmaceutical leverage to block critical components and supplies for dependent U.S. drug companies and send America into “the hell of a novel coronavirus epidemic.”

it isnt right that China should walk away scot free...
if a country spills oil in another country it is made to pay...
this is a lot worse....
no good relying on the WHO...they will only save themselves.

Well, you're correct in asserting that WHO will attempt to save itself. International bureaucracies tend to exist primarily for their own power's sake.
However, the fact that Trump cut off their supply of nearly $500 million in American tax money is bound to rattle WHO's cage, perhaps even resulting in the resignation of its corrupt leadership, such as Tedros, who has more China ties than a Beijing clothing store.
Will that make a major difference? Ehhh ... probably not, unless someone like Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove takes charge. She recently revealed that she suspected from the start that the coronavirus spread by human-to-human contact, but that WHO officials instead parroted the official Chinese party line.

https://www.dailyexaminer.com.au/news/c ... t/3997694/Amid the global pandemic, a new report claims China should pay for the COVID-19 disaster that has caused tens of thousands of deaths and shattered the global economy.
"How much should China pay for breaking the world?"
That is the question being posed in the latest 60 Minutes promo, as the Sunday night program investigates why China is facing a six-trillion-dollar lawsuit for misleading the world about coronavirus.
https://www.newsweek.com/china-class-ac ... 19-1498400At least four federal class-action lawsuits have been filed against the Chinese government that aim to recover trillions of dollars in damages for what plaintiffs allege is China's failure to contain the coronavirus outbreak and notify the international community about its dangers.
In one suit filed in late March, a coalition of California property managers and an accounting firm are seeking to represent all "small businesses" in California that have suffered as a result of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. A suit filed in mid-March by several Florida residents aims to assemble its own class of millions of people.
Larry Klayman, a conservative lawyer and founder of the group Freedom Watch, is leading another class-action complaint accusing China of releasing a "biological weapon" into the public.
All of the suits accuse the Chinese government of direct complicity in the COVID-19 outbreak and hope to use the machinery of the U.S. legal system to recover enormous amounts in damages. But the chance these actions will lead to any actual recoveries is slim, legal experts said.
The lawsuits will already face a substantial barrier in attempting to bring the Chinese into U.S. courts, explained Chimène Keitner, a professor of international law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law, and a former State Department Civil Service employee.
According to Keitner, the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act of 1976 (FSIA) provides foreign governments blanket immunity from most U.S.-tried lawsuits, carving out exceptions only in a few narrow circumstances.
It won't go anywhere but maybe if the rest of the world joined in?

Yep, if nothing else, it sends a message. Better than the world sitting back and poo pooing any action which China will obviously see as support for their evil commie regime.sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 3:43 pmBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 2:28 pmhttps://www.dailyexaminer.com.au/news/c ... t/3997694/Amid the global pandemic, a new report claims China should pay for the COVID-19 disaster that has caused tens of thousands of deaths and shattered the global economy.
