I have had a Japanese email friend for the past 20+ years. We never talk about politics, or religion. He is Shinto and the only reason that I know that is because his son died, accidentally, a few years ago, in Scotland of all places, and my Japanese friend told me about the Shinto procedure when somebody dies.
He travels a lot and latest was to Finland where his daughter is studying. While there, he observed the Aurora ....

I have seen a bit of Finland, have a few friends there.
But I have never been north enough to see the auroras
The last time I was in Turku, it was the summer solstice
24 hours of daylight, with a little bit of twilight for a couple of hours.
Sleeping was near impossible for me, so I was walking around like a zombie.
But in Turku there is a 12th century castle worth visiting
And quite a good ship museum
But even in the middle of summer, it barely got above 23 deg c
But it didn't stop the young ladies from sun bathing on the river bank, at midnight.
Lovely place, lovely people.
