No matter how hard I try i just cant put myself in the mindset of being fearful of being attacked all the time. Trying to give you and Flecko a bit of empathy for your scaredy cat syndrome here Valkie and you abuse me. Sheesh, some people.
It's not fear, it's being prepared.
I used to ride a motorcycle,
I had many friends who also rode motorcycles.
I have lost several, because they have not been prepared.
Many years ago I did an advanced rider training course.
They taught us to watch the road, the cars, the pedestrians and such.
But the single most important thing they taught us was to always have an OUT
Always watch for somewhere to go rather than freezing and skidding into an accident.
Cars hit trees, because the driver steers AT THE TREE with his foot firmly planted on the brake.
I have avoided many accidents by always having somewhere else to go
The wrong side of the road
Up on the footpath
Across a median strip
Even off road
Anything but into the idiot doing something stupid.
Was I afraid of riding? Nup, never
But I was always ready to take evasive action.
It's the same with self defence
Always be ready, always be prepared
Not afraid, just ready
18 years of martial arts and weapons training
6 years of competitive fighting, my favorite part.
As I stated last post, I fear no man, woman or animal.
But I am wary of them doing something stupid.
I always have an OUT and I'm not afraid to use it.
