Makes sense from a business perspective but something made the US the most powerful country with the biggest influence in the world... and it wasn't trade barriers.

I think he will make his point, there will be turnmoil and the next president will have a easy job fixing up relations while gaining from what Trump has and will do.

I believe what made the US the most powerful country in the world was it was the richest.
When England was the most powerful country it was the richest.

Currently the US is losing massive amounts of money due to bad trade agreements.
the US should change those agreements.
China would not accept such arrangements.

What made them the riches was innovation, natural resources and they benefited from WWII. Their corporation repatriate huge funds home, even when they produce overseas... that trade, it is corporate dominance.

Then they sold to the world. It was trade that made them rich and still does.

Amazon, Apple, Microsoft..... all take enormous amounts of money home. They have cash resources and turnover greater than the GDP of most countries.
