Programming

I have downloaded XoJo, formerly known as RealBASIC.

My my, is a bit different to BASIC, including the Microsoft BAsCOM compiler in the 1980s!

Nevertheless, I will persist. I DO like programming tho have not done it, obviously, for decades. Going to write software to keep track of my trees (e.g. TYPE = Apple, USE = Cider, FLAVOR = Bittersweet, pollinates/pollinated by, disease-pest susceptibility and resistance) and my batches of cider and perry incl blending.

This will be an intellectual exercise but any useful bits of code will be great.

The software includes HTML and internet stuff generally. Be a great learning experience I reckon. php will be one of the languages I will learn as part of all this, as is interacting with MySQL databases. The real PA has 50meg space for trying out things like this.

Be nice if eventually I can host the real NBN myself—part of the benefit of moving to Tassie—FTTH!

You can do what you want in Excel and use VBA for programming.

If you are doing it just for fun, enjoy.

I have no code in basic, I can help with how to do this in excel.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

As I said, this is an intellectual exercise.

Visual Basic is not real programming. Might do to fake something up quick then redo in XoJo.

If I need help be assured I will scream long and loud :bgrin
