It's shocking here too. I am wondering if we will have any bush left by Christmas.

So sad for all the animals with nowhere to go! :(

Terrible here too. I was afraid to turn the aircon on just in case smoke came in, so sweltered until my daughter turned up. She even rang this morning to check on me which is unusual. She said that she can't smell smoke inside my house but I can't breath so something is wrong. I have had COPD for 12 years - scary. Hope the wind changes soon!

Stay indoors Nef and if you put the AC on recycle you should be ok because it will only pump through the inside air.

I was going to go grocery shopping today but I did it online instead. The smoke is so thick I can barely see 20 feet past my front door. I have NEVER experienced anything like this!

In the north west, the highest reading was at 777 and 1264 in the south west.

But three hours later at 9 to 10am, levels in the east had increased to a high of 2214, more than 11 times the "hazardous" level.

In the north west, the air quality was at a high of 2075 and 862 in the south west.

Levels worsened between 11am and midday, with the air quality dropping even further in Sydney’s east - which recorded a level of 2552.

In the west, air quality was at 2204.
Hazardous is 200!

Parts of Sydney are at the level of 2552 and rising!

It's dissipating but still bad. This was a few hours ago.
