What do you do for Easter?

Post by Black Orchid » Sun Apr 21, 2019 3:35 pm

We used to always have a big Easter Sunday lunch with the whole family but my Mum has passed now and the family is fractured.

My oldest went to his girlfriend's family for Easter lunch and I am in 2 minds about trying to uphold family tradition or just letting it go.

No grandkids so it would just be the 3 of us which is why I don't bother. Should we make the effort to continue these family traditions?

Hope that you had a pleasant day, regardless, Black Orchid! :rose

I was never brought up having a family Easter Sunday Lunch. Just Christmas Lunch when not all the sisters and Co could attend every year, but I did. When Mum died, that ended.

These days, Easter Sunday is daughter and grand daughters over to collect and eat Easter Eggs.

Christmas is much the same. I no longer have Family Meals ... of which I am grateful ... I loath cooking, especially for lots of people.

You probably need to create your own Family Traditions!

We had a few bike rides, went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, bought seafood to cook at home.
Off for a lunch out soon.

Was a good time.

I went to a family Barbie on Saturday and had the family over today for Arvo tea. I'm a non-religious person so don't bother attending church/temple/synagogue/Mosque. I worked in the garden for part of the weekend and today upgraded my PC's OS. Indeed, I am still working on it, as I type. Linux, great the first day, wonderful the next... 8-)
