According to my WeatherBug thing, Canberra will be having temperatures in the mid-30s for the next 10 bloody days! Thankfully, it is dry heat here, so with the a/c on it isn't too bad.

Just got my shopping delivered so I'm fine but this is the second time the Coles delivery driver's eftpos machine wasn't working.

They expect me to verbalise my card over his device. The idiot supervisor on the other end says "we turn off the recording first" ... but what about the delivery driver standing right next to me?? Then the idiot supervisor says "fine we will just cancel the order".

Anyway I went outside and did it. "Customer service" is going to get an earful from me later :mad

The only time I have ordered groceries online I paid online ... then this is Canberra and I ordered from my local Woollies.

Sydney would be a lot different, I imagine.

With this so-called "cashless" society, you do have to be careful .... I presume that Coles were overrun with "home deliveries" and, due to the heat, the "supervisor" was short tempered. Ah well. Sock it to them tomorrow!

I have calmed down now and it was probably my fault. When I placed the order last night my wallet was way down the other end of the house and I couldn't be bothered getting it when I knew there was the option "Pay by EFTPOS on delivery".

I won't be making that mistake again. Twice bitten. I will pay when I do the order next time. I usually Paypal everything.

The other time the delivery guy's machine didn't work he said to call them and pay, so I did, and they were really peed off that he left the groceries without getting payment

It's not the delivery kids fault, he's just earning a dollar.

The "supervisor" needs to be nice to the customer, or get the sack!

On a HOT and HUMID day, the "delivery" asian adult needed to be TOLD .... I wouldn't have given him my card details either .... given that his "eftpos" might NOT have had a problem. Asians and Darkies and not to be trusted. TRUE. :thumb
