Local Gardeners club
I just joined the local Gardening club.
Am more excited about it that I thought I would be.
They specialise in food growing.

Re: Local Gardeners club
OK, I just had a feed of green beans grown as a trial on the property I work on.
Not sure if I can keep growing them as the cold weather comes.
just fencing the rabbits out of a large patch of snow peas, I want to grow heaps and sell at weekend markets, bastard rabbits mowed of the first planting,, not to worry i have time and the seed is cheap,,, plus it gives me a chance to control the weeds better.
I have 350 metres of golden squash and 400 metres of zucchini producing fantastic product at the moment.
Planted another 300 metres of lebanese zucchini today, will fill another 100 m tomorrow.
Not sure how they will handle the winter either, just going to keep replanting and hope they survive.
The days are warm in winter but there may be a frost at night.
I have shade houses with tomato, cucumber capcicum, chilli planted and producing, they crop all winter in the houses.
Going to plant Chard, kale and brussel sprouts for a trial and enough to supply the local mine that ownes the property.
We have beds of the Australian sweet potato growing,,, I have learnt how to grow them and going to major expand the planting .
I have also got some orange sweet potato, going to grow the runners and plant a substantial block in early spring ,,, weather permitting.
We are just clearing the watermelon and rock melon blocks,,, keeping the plastic mulch in place for the zucchini and squash crops.
going to put the garlic in the coolroom soon to plant a huge patch when it sprouts, going to plant then spray over with dacthal to keep the weeds out,, they grow a bit on winter rain , but we also have t.Tape to irrigate them since the rainfall is doubtful.
Going to plant a large area to beetroot (I need stuff that I know I can grow all year since the zucchini and squash are risky in the cold), going to plant the beetroot real close and pick as a bunching product,,, thinning them as i harvest.Going to use a pre emergent herbicide over them as well.
We received a kit form $880K climate controlled shade house which we have to erect (Yesterday) so in the real head of the summer I can grow lettuce, tomato, cucumber, may even grow the zucchini there as it can not handle extreme heat either. I will have a hectare under climate control as well as substantial outdoor gardens.
We are planting an arboretum for all manners of bush tucker plants, to see which ones we can grow commercially.
Still happy for any suggestions of what i can grow.
I have ruled out carrot, potato, onion already,,, too industrial and other growers close to perth can grow that in bulk much cheaper.
I am going to plant a substantial block of butternut pumpkin,, I can get new season before the growers further south, so i should have an advantage,,, plus I can store them and retail them and get a bit better money.
What do you think??

WOW!! It seems like you have just about everything covered. Amazing!! WOW!!
You are certainly going to be busy. Obviously I have never done anything on that scale but I have also never had a problem with rabbits thank God.

Sorry Mech that attachment did not fly.
I am also trialling some broccolini.
No one in this town eats the big broccoli, far too healthy for them.
We have chooks as well, the eggs sell really well.

I'm just going to try small container vegetables come spring. Cherry toms, salad mix, Lebanese cucumbers, chillies and capsicum. Perhaps if I get ambitious, small eggplant and zucchini, but will pick them when tender.
All trial and error for me, my container planters have handles in case we need to relocate them, for whatever reason, heavy frost etc.
