I love Mexican food. Unfortunately there are no Mexican restaurants worth visiting around here. I cook what I can but it is a pale imitation of real Mexican food. I used to visit a restaurant in Canberra's civic many years ago which served beautiful Mole'. Most odd, eating chili flavoured chocolate chicken. :thumb

Restaurants opened today in Texas. We are about to go eat Mexican food at Ta' Molly's. It's Fajita Friday.
Hope it goes well Tex, cant say i know much about Mexican Food.

I see BO also apparently likes it by her comment on the other forum.
Fajitas are seasoned and grilled steak strips (or chicken), served with refried beans, salsa, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, grilled onions and bell peppers, sour cream, and cheese. You take a tortilla and fill it up with whatever ingredients you want, roll it up and eat it. It comes on 2 plates (actually a plate and a skillet) because there is so much. When it arrives at your table, the steak, onions, and peppers are still sizzling in the skillet. I could only eat about half and I take the rest home for a second meal.

The Friday night special at Ta'Molly's is $10.99 fajitas.

Might give Mexican a try soon, I notice we have a Guzman Y Gomez nearby that home delivers

Bo what would you suggest for home delivery for three adults for dinner?

I really have no idea!

With Chinese we usually order several dishes plus starters like dim sims, cracker chips?

Any ideas?

I don't know Red as I have no idea what you like. Check their menu lol.

I don't order Tacos or Nachos because I make them at home regularly and I haven't eaten at Guzman Y Gomez BUT I now have another craving and there is one near me who delivers via Menulog so I have placed an order for tonight. It will be here in 30 and I will let you know.

I ordered a Mexican salad with pulled pork, some guacamole, tomato salsa and some corn chips. You need to know that corn chips from a restaurant are nothing like the packet chips. They are usually made in situ.

For dessert I ordered Churros that come with a chocolate dipping sauce. Churros are YUM!! I love love love Churros!

Well the Churros were really nice but they didn't deliver the chocolate sauce. Lucky I had some in the fridge.

The rest was ok but nothing to write home about. If you haven't eaten real Mexican food before you may like it but it's just chain food.

Nothing like the real Mexican food I had from Gringos last weekend. Not even on the same planet.

It's like comparing a real hamburger to McDonalds but that doesn't mean you won't like it yourself.
