Hello everyone. How’s things? I haven’t been around for awhile.
Every time I see your name I think of the song by Point Blank. (Old Dallas area group)
I hope Nicole is a good character in the song and not a wicked one, Tex?
The song is not very clear about that, but he is smitten with her.
The song used to get a lot of playtime on my local radio when I was a teen because they were local. I never heard who the group was on the radio, but I thought it was Phil Collins until a few years ago. Point Blank were one hit wonders.

I’m happy with that song as a namesake.

The funniest thing happened to me when driving to work Thursday. I was driving to the entrance to my neighborhood, when a raccoon scurried out of the middle of the road in front of me as I stopped at a stop sign. The raccoon stood up on his hind legs and started hopping around as if to say "You want a piece of me?" I wish I had had time to video him.

Had something similar happen where I live. I was picking my wife up from work in the evening. We were stopped at a light when a Possum which was obviously waiting for the red light decided to cross the road. First time I've seen a completely unconcerned Possum in front of a car before. I was rather surprised when it got to the other side of the road and just turned around until the light changed and then trotted off into the bushes.

I think possum are blind as a bat, especially in daylight. I know armadillo are. Maybe I'm confusing the two. Maybe that's why I see so many of both dead on the road.

I shot an armadillo a few years ago. It was 3 am and one of my boxers jumped the fence and was fighting with something outside my bedroom window. I ran out and found Annie trying to get at an armadillo rolled into a ball. I sent Annie back over the fence. I knew that many armadillo carry leprosy and didn't want to mess with it. I grabbed a nearby stick and hit it a couple of times to drive it away. It ran into my shrubs and proceeded to dig to China. It was late, I was tired and my dogs were waking up the whole neighborhood while I'm outside in my underwear. I didn't like what it was doing to my landscaping, so I got a 9mm pistol, shot it and went to bed.

The US is also an epicentre for plague. The Prairie Dogs carry it. Close association with them means about 10 or 20 cases a year of transfer to humanity (mainly kids). It is easily cured by antibiotics.
