Is that a roof water collection tank? Does it provide enough water for your needs? Do you have numbers? I'll have to convert to American measurements, but I was astonished at how much water you can collect from a roof.
https://www.calculator.net/conversion-calculator.htmlThe International System of Units, currently the most widely used system of measurement, was published in 1960. It has been adopted by all developed countries except for the United States, though as previously mentioned, it is used in science, as well as heavily in the military, even in the US.
Thank you. I'll have to combine 3 conversions to convert liters per square meter per centimeter of rainfall to gallons per square foot per inch of rainfall. I won't mess with it until I get some numbers. I'm curious how the system works in real life conditions.Neferti~ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 4:44 pmhttps://www.calculator.net/conversion-calculator.htmlThe International System of Units, currently the most widely used system of measurement, was published in 1960. Yes. Thats it. I know rainwater and well water aren't perfect for drinking. The house will be plumbed with tank water, but drinking taps and ice makers will be filtered.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 11:18 pmWhen we had a water tank a couple of decades ago they still referred to them in gallons. Ours was 10,000 gallons.
We also had a bore (drilled groundwater bore) but the groundwater isn't recommended for drinking. I guess that's like a well except the water is pumped to the surface and comes out of a tap?
rainwater is distilled waterBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:02 amRainwater is perfect drinking water. Groundwater not so much because it is laden with minerals.
Rainwater is distilled water, but would you have to worry algae developing in the tank?sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:08 pmrainwater is distilled waterBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:02 amRainwater is perfect drinking water. I have not heard of that concern.Texan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 2:40 pmRainwater is distilled water, but would you have to worry algae developing in the tank?sprintcyclist wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:08 pmrainwater is distilled waterBlack Orchid wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:02 amRainwater is perfect drinking water.
