I was at work this morning and my wife texted me and told me that the air conditioner isn't working. I got lucky. The compressor fan outside wasn't running. I tested the input contactor and the run capacitor and they both work fine. I spun the fan to see if it was spinning freely. It spins, but not like it should. I managed to get it working again and I'll replace it next weekend after payday. I was afraid I'd be out a lot of money. This fan should only cost about $130. I'll replace it earlier if it fails again.

The AC only lasted 12 hours. AC supply stores were closed on Sunday. We visited with my parents all day and went home and packed an overnight bag for the local Comfort Inn. I had a free night. I fixed it this morning and I’m eating a celebratory lunch with the lovely Mrs Texan.

Right now the highs are 37-40 C. I’ve seen as high as 114F. I think that’s about 45-46 C.
Humidity varies. Houston is muggy. West Texas is arid. Dallas varies.

OMG that is hot!! Sounds hotter than here but I am on the coast with lower temps in Summer than many areas of Aus!! It's around 20 C or 68 F right now and suits me just fine although Spring begins here on 1st September and then on comes the start of the heat and the fires etc.
