I've always been a tight-arse from many years as homeless, etc back in the day when 5c made a difference towards a better choice.
I'm still that way, but not as choiceless as before. I think of it like being a Hunter-Gatherer. Walking up the isles and finding a good bargain or discount. At least once a month, there are some incredible 1/2 price stuff (no immediate expiry) which I 'prey' upon. I like the challenge. Like buying a bag of Whiting, Peppered Squid, etc for $13 (with a month to go) rather than paying $34 start price. It's all about 'tummy-patience'.
I've had a few really good female partners who are Cook/Chef status and have been spoiled on that level, but sometimes - I just enjoy a nice cheap tin of Spag or Beans. I'm not a good cook at all and most of my attempts are purely what I call 'slop'. But hey, when I think back to my years of doing it tough n' rough - I've eaten far worse. ;)

I'm making meat pies tomorrow and the filling is in the oven as of a few minutes ago. I find it's better if it's prepared the day before.

Good.

Here was my dinner tonight. ( I had a nice lunch already today)

I had a jam doughnut before this and then this was all I wanted.
The Coles Dijon mustard is great - I used a large tablespoon full.

That's very German Bobby, you might have some Germanic blood in you somewhere back there.

Last night we had pork stir-fry and rice ( just boiled)

Tonight is an early dance night so will have smoothies and Sushi ( bought ) I'll make the smoothies tho.

Too easy.

I'm a tight ass too. And very proud to be.
Some of my friends spend hundreds of wasted money on food that sits in their fridges and rots.

I'd rather spend it on something meaningful like daughter’s activities and taking her on holidays.

And Bobby, that's not slop , it's a regular guy meal. Lol, and you've at least been careful to put some veg in. Not bad, but a little more veg would be even better ;-)
