What fascinating looking birds. I have never seen them here.
She did chuckle when I left the store with the box under my arm and said "Let's go nuggets".

Well. My ducklings are murderers. I put the new chicks in with the ducklings and they seemed to be getting along. I didn't notice any pecking or anything. During their first night, the ducklings evicted the chicks from the mama heating pad and they died of hypothermia. I guess I can't raise them together. I wonder if I should get a couple of more ducklings. Would I end up with a chicken/duck civil war?

The hoarding has started here. The dunny paper is gone and now friends are calling me for eggs. I guess it's time to start charging and I need to buy padlocks for the coop at night.

It's only going to get worse too. People have gone insane. I intend doing my weekly shop tomorrow. I hope there is something there for me to buy.

Many years ago, while driving into the deep dark outback.
I got bored and started twiddling the radio knobs.
I managed to find a station, no idea what it was, but they were discussing "chicken sexing"
For the next hour I was in stitches while all these people rang up and put their thoughts on the subject.
Apparently , it's not that easy to sex chickens, but it's damn funny.
When the segment came to an end, the station actually announced that the next segment was cancelled due to the high interest in the subject and the abundance of callers.
I lost it, I cried from the tears of humor.
Eventually, I lost the station, but it made the trip far more enjoyable.
Sad part is, it wasn't meant to be a comedy.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

When you get out into the country (outback) you go into a different world. I was working in Idaho a few months ago. The talk radio was full of farming news and results of testing the latest hybrids of produce and cattle and crop futures on the market. Many of their talk shows were geared toward farming and livestock. It seemed like 95% of the state was farms and ranches.
The ducks grew quickly and are handling the elements well. Even on chilly nights, they play in the oversized water bowl beneath the coop. I decided to leave them beneath the coop at night within the hardware cloth secured area and I bought 4 more chicks to go in the brooding area. I bought 2 Aurucanas, a Barred Rock, and a Rhode Island Red. After 3 days, their adult colors are starting to come in and they seem to be healthy and happy. The hens and ducks roam the yard during the day and the chicks stay locked up in the brooding area.

Yes,but my coop is pretty secure. Coyotes hunt in the pasture behind my house almost every night.
