Re: Hospitals not respecting privacy.
Thanks IQ & BO,
I get annoyed at the medical services.
e.g. I find some doctors are are very arrogant -
they look at their computer screens instead of you
& you can often feel like you don't exist in front of them.
They also keep you waiting long after your appointment is due.
Often - they don't even have the results you came to find out about -
they then get on the phone chasing e.g pathology results that should have been ready &
that they should have obtained prior to the appointment.
The medical staff don't phone you to postpone an appointment when the results
you came to see haven't turned up.
The whole process seems like it's out of control and run by incompetent overpaid fools.
Then the fact that a doctor can go behind your back to take you off the road is just another nail in their coffin -
no respect for privacy and you're talking to the state - not your trusted doctor.

I get very good service from the doctor I see.. she works alone maybe thats the difference...
I couldnt careless who sees my health records....I have nothing to hide....
if your blood tests show you could be a threat danger on the roads....
isnt it fair to all traffic that you are removed asap....
we now have cars that park themselves....no I havent got one of them unfortunately..
but one day we may have a car that will know its being driven by an incompetent person and refuse to move....
its worth thinking about..

It is fair enough that someone who is medically
unfit to drive should be taken off the road.
I used to have a great doctor but not anymore
after moving away.

Re: Hospitals not respecting privacy.
Bobby if your doctor is that arrogant you need to find another one.
My doctor is fantastic, a sole practitioner, and would never do anything without discussing it with me. Nor would she waste her time, or mine, if I was going for results that had not arrived. She would call and let me know, then chase them up and reschedule.
You need a 'family doctor' who knows you and your history and not one of these medical practices where they barely speak English and rotate regularly.
You can't complain about service if you don't shop around and find someone decent. The onus is on you to do that.

That will be difficult.
I have tried 3 doctors already -
one was OK but didn't bulk bill.
2 other doctors I found were not nice at all.

No, of course Bobby. Medically unfit people should drive. The blind, epileptics, the insane, the mentally deficient etc. All these people have a perfect right to drive a 1 tonne mass of metal capable of killing multitudes if not handled correctly. Lets go even further and give them pilots licenses.

Re: Hospitals not respecting privacy.
I saw a Respiratory Specialist last week, (my GP told me to). I last saw this lung bloke in 2013. However, he had ALL my x-rays and CT scans and so forth, since BEFORE 2013 and since, up on his computer screen for me to see and so that he could point out stuff. I was pleased that he had that information. Wouldn't you be?
Oh, and he Bulk Billed me ... the stupid receptionist charged me $278, then, after I had OKed the withdrawal, she had to fiddle around with a REFUND.
No further appointments required ...

That's a pleasing story.
It's nice to be treated like a person and not a number.
