I remember a few years ago, while on the "up" escalator in Myers, an old married couple on the "down" escalator with the female going berserk at hubby because of something or other ... I though it quite amusing as he just replied "Yes, dear", "no, dear". It did make me wonder whether she hit him over the head with a frying pan at home when he annoyed her though. :rofl

Own it, stop it.

Noone has a right to physically, mentally, emotionally, sexually, financially abuse anyone.

Be they male of female.

This isn't about gender, its about abuse.

Stop being a black shirted sook Sprint.

Sorry.
You mean all men are responsible for women who love getting it on with criminals?

I know a guy who's wife is an effing bitch. She belittles and humiliates him any chance she gets. Funny thing, he's not a softcock or a doormat, he just says he loves her despite that side of her personality.

I find it funny that if he finally lost it and clocked her, she could go to the cops and get him locked out of his own house and charged, yet he's been more damaged by years of verbal and emotional abuse as opposed to one smack in the chops.

yes, women get off with murdering their husband by using that excuse.
if they get a male judge, shed a few tears, they will walk free.

The Doris has hit me on a couple of occasions , slapped me, thrown a piece of wood at me, She doesnt see it as domestic violence, on some level she justifies it to herself, Was a different matter when I gave her a gentle nudge with the car when she wouldnt move her ass outta the way, she fell to the ground crying lol

Females use WORDS, males use STRENGTH. Obviously, in any marriage/partnership, people get annoyed with each other.

Getting "verbal" is one thing, getting "physical" is another. How can you consider/compare "verbal abuse" as bad as "physical abuse"?

Female calls man a "nasty word", man hits woman with his fist .... IF you are in that sort of relationship, it is probably best to leave NOW before somebody kills somebody!

it is all one person unjustly using a natural advantage to get what they want over another.
verbal aggression can be very damaging. Used publically it is much worse, this is often seen .

..............Watson and Parsons (2005) definitive piece of research on domestic violence carried out for the National Crime Council found that:

• 15% of women and 6% of men suffer severe domestic abuse
• 29% of women and 26% of men suffer domestic abuse when severe abuse and minor incidents are combined
• 13% of women and 13% of men suffer physical abuse or minor physical incidents and
• 29% of women (1 in 3) and only 5% of men (1 in 20) report to the Gardaí.

The study suggested that in the region of 88,000 men and 213,000 women in Ireland have been severely abused by a partner at some point in their lives.
While, at first glance, the above seems to suggest that women and men experience similar levels of domestic abuse, one must bear in mind that the impact and severity of abuse experienced by women is much greater than that by men particularly for more severe behaviours. That said, men, like women, deserve protection against these abuses............
