Dad

Our father is gone. He is no longer.
We will not visit him again for some time.
We will not share time with him for a while.
We will not laugh with him or have quiet time.

But we will carry Him with us for all time.
Dad is gone but he is with us.

At some stage we will be with him.
At some time we will be together.
Till then, the place ain’t the same.
Till then, we can laugh for him.
We can be together for him.
We can live for him.

Hey Sprint, How is your mum coping... It's always hardest for the partner. Hope she is OK.
Thanks, I ring her most days.

This is so ugly and depressing.
Dad's funeral, that I could not attend due to covid regulations, has been followed by the total destruction of almost every relationship in my family.

The greed and lack of emotional maturity is beyond belief.
I have not been able to mourn my Father as I have had poisonous letters from one sibling, gleeful talks of contesting the will from 2 siblings, threats of physical violence from one sibling to another, threat of financial destruction of Dads estate from another, total disregard of our Mothers health from 2 siblings when she hears of all this. She's 94, if her kids fight it is terrible for her.

It was a very inequitable will. I am one of the ones disadvantaged.
It was Dads money, he can do whatever he wanted to with it.

The less I have to do with my family the better for me.

Condolences Sprint.
Most families I know are dysfunctional in some way including mine.

Thanks all.

It is tough to accept that my family has self eviscerated.
They have harmed me when I needed help.
Experience, good people and yoga has told me to forgive and release them from my life.

Sorry to hear about the bad times Sprint. Remember, blood isn't necessary to make a family though.

I have taken the same view when it comes to the crazies in my family.

I have to let toxic people go, Sometimes I cannot forgive but I have learned not to let then live rent free in my head. That way they are no longer a toxic influence in my life.

Good stuff Sprint, I am with you on that.

Thanks Super Nova.

This is hard but getting less painful as the weeks pass. Letting go of relationships is a bereavement in itself.
These are lifelong relationships. I will be hurt for some time. I am accepting that.
I am not happy about it at all.
