We had a neighbour when I was young who was learning to play the bagpipes. He walked up and down up and down every weekend for hours on end doing a damned horrible job of it. I have hated them ever since.

In the 70s I often went to Harold Park trots and they had a horse going around
called The Scotsman....as a novelty when the horses paraded before the race, they had a bagpiper
march up the home straight playing the bagpipes...
Needless to say I backed the nag several times and won a bit of money off him.....true story....

Kids learning to play the bagpipes, violin or even the piano can be hard on the ears. I am musical and had no trouble playing the piano but my little sister used to make a real hash of it.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 2:47 pmWe had a neighbour when I was young who was learning to play the bagpipes.
