And I'll bet, as a result, it made you stronger and a better man.Bobby wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 4:49 pmValkie wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 4:36 pmI swear to you
Everything I have written is the gods truth.
My parents were quite poor.
We had little but love.
We made do and made our own fun.
Most of the other kids I knew were not much better off
For this reason and for the love of my life
I worked hard, studied hard and advanced through to management and more wealth.
My kids wanted for little, but we did not spoil them.
It's been a hard life
But it's been worth it.
My story is true too.
I had a hard life when I was young.
We only had good food because my father had a huge and productive veggie garden
and he went fishing at least once per week.
We lived mostly on fresh vegetables & fish.
The only time we had a roast dinner was Xmas when we had a roast chicken a few times.
I had it tough.
We lived through hard times
But we worked to give our families better lives than we had.
Both of us could easily have played the victim
We could have complained and demanded what we did not work for or deserve.
We could have blamed our past, as so many do, for not trying to better ourselves.
Yes it cost
I worked two, sometimes 3 jobs to get ahead
I spent many many hours studying and educating myself, to better myself.
My family saw little of me in the early years, but because we loved each other, we persevere.
I may not be rich, but I am comfortably well off.
Your past does not dictate who you will be.
But it does strengthen your resolve.
Only the weak, the pathetic blame their upbringing, their past.
The strong break tgese bonds and tgey succeed despite the odds.
It's a shame so many weak people blame the past, their colour, their religion, their upbringing.
They hate themselves and become worthless.
You are what you want to be.
