Post by Redneck » Sat Mar 24, 2018 4:22 pm

I am trying to learn to do cryptic crosswords.

This is a great online one to do each day

I have it on a permanent tab on my browser to ensure I dont forget!

Any of you fans of cryptics?

I used to do cryptic crosswords but haven't for a long time. I also did the larger street view jigsaws until I started going cross-eyed.

They are not easy but your brain starts to pick up the clues after a while!

My wife is the suduko and bloody jigsaw player to the point i have to move my keyboard to eat breakfast at my PC as the family dining room table is covered by a bloody jigsaw!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :S

I did the jigsaws online. I couldn't stand little bits of puzzle everywhere it would drive me nuts.

You should make your wife a jigsaw "board".

Tells you how to make one here.

Then, when she has finished for the day she can take it off the table and put it on the floor or somewhere else.

She has one but needs all these other boards to put all the extra bits not yet allocated a spot!

She needs a bigger board so that she can leave the bits beside the puzzle.

My sister was into jigsaw puzzles and crosswords. I am not really but I used to play Adventure Games and they had lots of puzzles, including slider puzzles which I like. Many people found the slider puzzle in the Adventure Game Nibiru to be difficult, I found it easy. In this puzzle you have to get all the marbles in line ... all the red ones and so forth, like the second picture. Lots of moving marbles. LOL

Hate them. probably because i am not wordy and better at logic and numbers.

Also i have a character flaw, if i am not naturally good at something.... I don't bother.

I admire your efforts to get better at them. One day, when i am old and retired, I may give it a go.
