One would have to be very strong and fit to wear such armour and use such weapons.

Medieval knight training was a long process that involved physical training, education, and learning to serve others.
Boys were often chosen to become pages, which means "shield-carrier", at age seven. Boys became squires at age 13. They learned how to be a knight by accompanying their master to war. Squires were usually knighted by a feudal lord or monarch around age 20-21.

Medieval battle horses were very strong too.
A complete set of horse armour could weigh between 40 to 90 pounds—and that’s not even counting the added weight of the rider and his armour.

Yes. Those War Horses were brutal. Trained to fight. Very aggressive. Spikes on their shins to lash out.

Not all war horses were battle horses.
Horses were almost always a feature of a medieval army. They allowed soldiers to travel more quickly, and to arrive fresher for the fight. They were more important in this strategic role than on the battlefield. In 1151, Henry II was able to move his army more than 400 miles across the French countryside in six weeks, foraging and besieging castles along the way. Such a speed of advance would not have been possible without horses.

Once they reached the scene of battle, soldiers often dismounted to fight. This was standard practice for Welsh and English archers when they were lucky enough to have mounts
Not many could afford a battle horse.
Good Horses Were Worth as Much as Land.

So valuable were the best horses that by the 11th century swathes of land were being traded for them. In 1030, the abbey of Jumièges paid the Count of Amiens six highly priced horses for territory at Genainville, while in the previous decade it bought land and privileges at Rouvray from the Bishop of Bayeux for the cost of a single horse.

I didn't know that. Waste of a good horse taken down by arrow.
People say today that the horse is of lesser use today than long ago and can still be expensive to keep and look after as a hobby.
