The Mad Katters pseudo-Tea Party

Post by mellie » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:10 am

It's clear, Katters Australia party was established for the purpose of snaring the following ...because it's true, one catches more flies with honey than vinegar. Even Gillards starting to figure this out.

- Disaffected
- Malcontent
- Simple and politically ambitious/semi-retired (If wanting to purchase a franchise/join)
- Politically naive
- Patriotic, protectionist, red-necked
- Novelty voter
- GALP disillusioned

Katters philosophy is simple, and as stupid and harmless as he seems, he has one clear objective.....

To deliver ALP their preferences.

GALP must have funded him a pretty penny to achieve this as quickly as they have.

Guaranteed, his preferences will go to Labor.

Will the slow-folk figure this out before the QLD state election, before his novelty wears off?

Will he declare his line of preferences before heading to the polls?

If his electorate knew of his intention to hand his preferences over to Labor, would they vote for him?

You will get some simple folk who are not dumb, just trusting and honest themselves who will fall for this entertaining clown if they aren't brought up to speed.

The last possible date for the next Queensland state election is 16 June 2012...I think they will be heading to the polls within a few months... November, early December even... February 2012 at the latest, unless something drastic occurs between now and then.

I think Katter's Tea Party will do very well in Queensland. It's always been a bit of a redneck state where the likes of Joh Bjelke-Petersen are worshipped. Katter has similar qualities.

I can't see him giving his preferences to Labor though, but possibly the Nationals. Some of them are probably thinking seriously of breaking away from the Libs where they've lost their voice.

Bob Katter's new paradigm: wagging parliament
Matthew Knott
Wednesday, 12 October 2011

"Every vote in a hung parliament counts", so the mantra goes – yet Bob Katter has been absent for almost half of all parliamentary votes since the last election.

The maverick Queensland independent has been absent for 78 divisions, or 45% of all votes, in the hung parliament, according to the following paper by the Parliamentary Library.

http://www.aph.gov.au/library/pubs/bn/p ... iament.pdf

By contrast, Tasmanian MP Andrew Wilkie did not miss any votes. Rob Oakeshott missed seven, Tony Windsor 15 and WA National Tony Crook nine.

Bob Katter's acting chief of staff, Jen Eliot, told The Power Index this morning that she believed most of the votes were on procedural matters.

"We don't play parliamentary games," Eliot said. "We don't involve ourselves in any of that rubbish with sessional and standing orders."

However according to analysis by consultancy firm Hawker Britton, 45% of the votes that Katter missed were on "substantive" issues such as the passage of legislation and creation of parliamentary committees.

Katter's staffers are still sifting through the data and will soon release a more detailed response.(Dont hang by your neck)

The Parliamentary Library study also reveals that, despite backing Tony Abbott to form government, Katter has voted with the ALP 49 times and the opposition 45 times over the past year.

Katter, MP for the far-north Queensland electorate of Kennedy, voted against the government's carbon tax package today, but supported a separate bill that sets up a $300 million compensation package.

This is consistent with Katters ALP familial heritage, his father, Bob Katter Sr was a long-time state Labor MP.

But still hidden among the folklore of communism has been the tale of Mr Katter's father, the late Bob Katter, sigh.

I had him pegged from the start.

Take a look at the members of his new party--- (Hint - ACP reorganised with a few fresh faces)

-Smirk

Oh, and his brother is the new face of "GetUps" up'n'cumming campaign.

The question on everyones lips is---How many will fall for this fake?

He's at the opposite end of the extreme political spectrum to the Nationals, who are by no means anything close to being as extreme as either the ALP and the Greens these days, rather is in bed with the GALP, the watermelon/red faction there of... this and is trying to convince QLD he's interesting/patriotic enough to vote for.

He'll play the red-neck patriot,...sing his silly little songs, beat himself up to be everything he wants our media to portray him to be, (Note how Fairfax are giving him rave reviews and plenty of publicity..pmsl)....ironic, don't you think, and why?

Because they know exactly what he is.
Labors own.

:)

Australians know a fake when they see one, we've had plenty of worked examples in recent years.

I can guarantee you, he'll preference ALP...because thats what he is.

But still hidden among the folklore of communism has been the tale of Mr Katter's father, the late Bob Katter Snr, the former member for Kennedy from 1966 to 1990.

For decades speculation has endured that Bob Katter Snr flirted with communism in his youth and all but joined the Communist Party. Of course, in later life he was a staunch opponent of the movement.

According to Frank Bishop, the North Queensland secretary of the Communist Party from 1953 until it dissolved, there is a story that Mr Katter Snr, who had a clothing store in Conclurry, once went along with publican Jim Boyd to join the Communist Party -- but applications by both were unsuccessful.

"I can't prove it, but Eddie Heilbronn and I had a talk about it once," Mr Bishop said.

He said the late Eddie Heilbronn would definitely have known, but those associated with the episode had passed away. Eddie Heilbronn was a well-known radical communist and a former secretary of the Mt Isa Mines Ironworkers' Union.

But some involvement of the Katters with communism is certain.

Bob Katter Jnr said his maternal grandfather, Stan Horn, was a communist, and a strong supporter of Gerry Dawson, a chairman of the Queensland Trades and Labor Council and a prominent communist.

Continues.....

His party's red octogram insignia was a dead give away...

Katter was at one time a member of the Australian Labor Party and a union delegate
Being a one time member would be an eternity for most....an eternity of embarrassment
