Labor falls to historic lows: Newspoll

JULIA Gillard's carbon tax plan has sent Labor's primary vote support reeling to its lowest level on record, with the Prime Minister also suffering a significant slide in her personal standing.

The latest Newspoll survey, conducted exclusively for The Australian, reveals Labor's primary vote has fallen from 36 per cent two weeks ago to 30 per cent, below the 31 per cent record when Paul Keating was prime minister in 1993, as the Coalition rose four points to 45 per cent.

On a two-party preferred basis, based on preference flows at last year's election, Labor now trails the Coalition 46 per cent to 54 per cent after being tied at 50 per cent support two weeks ago.

Ms Gillard, who last month announced plans to introduce a carbon tax from July 1 next year, has seen her lead over Tony Abbott as preferred prime minister halved from 22 points to 11 points. Voter satisfaction with Ms Gillard has also collapsed.

Was that before or after the unwinnable election?

All that means nothing, they take a poll in a particular area, mainly the opposition and of course they get the result they look for, perhaps maybe 1000 people get asked.
Big deal, labor is on top no problems.

Even the Essential poll which is notoriously labor leaning has labor on the nose.

Labor are fucked. Greens have wedged them and they have no idea on how to extricate themselves

You are dreaming if you think labor are not in trouble. Combet will be sniffing Dullards chair making sure she hasn't unwittingly left a pollywaffle present for him

I'm not the one supporting a party that is willing to introduce a tax on living. How do you liebor tards live with yourself trying to justify the incompetence, waste, mismanagement and excessive taxation?

How fucking clueless are you?

One can ask you that same question.
You and your mates are complaining about another tax, shit don't we all,
but why on earth sit there and say that it is only this government doing it?
Have a very close look at what is going on around the world, there are many other countries that have introduced a carbon tax and several years ago it was done, what we tend to do is watch the others to see if it will work,
no one want's extra taxes, more levy's but hey, if we want things done then it is our money that needs to be collected in order for things to be started, or are you one of those that lives in a posh rich area that has a couple mil in the bank, then has the best accountants do you tax to say you only earned $5000 last year?
Get down off ya limped quarterback horse and smell the dirt down here on earth.

Very few have introduced carbon taxes and all of them are failing, badly.

The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. It's why you will always vote left, because you are fucking stupid
