jail school

Post by Rainbow Moonlight » Sat Mar 21, 2009 11:29 am

Should we have a different type of special school in each district- one where the worst student offenders are sent to study, the school operating under different rules and conditions than normal schools? Would it help get violence and drugs out of ordinary schools?

The States have always had that in one form or the other beginning with the now old-fashioned term "Reform Schools." Now they are called "Alternative Schools." I had a crush on a girl when I was 14 that ended up in one. For years I wondered what happened to her and a couple of years ago I found out that she is a well-regarded lesbian artist.

Some would be useful. I think Rudds trade training centres in high schools is a great move where the less academic can learn metal & woodworking etc and stay at school instead of leaving early for a dead end job and getting them out the hair of kids who dig Maths and English and science etc
