Where will the power end up?

My pessimistic view is that Egypt will come under the power of Islamist extremists, who are unafraid of exerting their will on a population.

My optimistic view is that it will come under the influence of moderates, open to freedom... but do they have the will to exert their beliefs on others who disagree?

Moderation, it's always at a disadvantage to the unwavering self-belief of extremists.

I hope this is the outcome. the Muslim brotherhood are too quite. It feels like they are waiting for the right time.

The vacume has been filed by the military. They are filling the vacum i nthe short term .Hopefully they will not steal too much as they already have control and ownership of so much.

The outgoing president only really hung around to steal as much of the country's wealth as he could. They should go after the fu..ker and make an example of him.

I guess it doesn't directly at the moment.

It could directly if they become extremist, start a war to wipe out the jewish state next door and that creates a major war in the middle east sucking in the west including Australia. We all know that if the US goes to war, we are 2nd into it after the UK. So that could affect us.

If this is the beginning of a revolution by state that have Muslums as the majority of their population then our closest neighbour could have it's own revolution. Another one after the one 14 years ago where they threw out Soharto. I was in Jakarta for that one. It was more deadly than what has happen in Egypt.
