Jobs plan to save lost generation as skilled migration slashed
JULIA Gillard is planning a massive program of skills training and Year 12 retention, fearing that the global recession could create a lost generation of young people stuck on dole queues for so long that they become unemployable.
The Deputy Prime Minister plans in the next two years to target hundreds of thousands of young people unable to find their first job, with incentives to either stay at school and complete Year 12 or to undertake skills training.
And she will also aim assistance at people in their 40s who are made redundant to prevent them from spiralling into long-term unemployment and poverty.

That is laudatory action. But the implications are fairly frightening: implying a very long term recession/depression.

That is right, isn't it Dickhead? Rudd caused the Subprime mess, caused banks to fail all over the world, caused China to slow right down etc. How stupid. How trite.

Krudd, original you ain't Dickhead.
So the world wide economic meltdown is a mirage? You are a clown.
I remember when we arrived here in 1957 Dad couldn't find work because of one of Mr Menzies credit squeezes. Plenty of Fib recessions incl one when Howard was Treasurer and the clown managed high inflation, high interest rates AND high unemployment.

Thats an interesting perspective JM.
So you are saying that the international SocDems have no part in whats going on. That the coincidal events of Unions Inc' being legislated into mass power in a time of a downturn, plus the emminent revival of the 'jobs for the boys' sys.dum is just that, a coincidence?
In addition, that the BBGen engineered 'skills shortage' will come to an abrupt end now that saviour Labor has power, and that the BBGen engineered gender apartheid will also end, because population replacement is at an all time low?
Is this really so JM, and if so, where is the evidence that Labor can fix all these looming crises.
I see no evidence whatsoever JM. What I see is a continuation of the status quo, in favour of BBGen, to the exclusion of all others, till death do us part!

'Morons" who at least listen to Treasury, unlike Cossie. The only times Cossie listened to Treasury was when they were desperately trying to coach him in what to say.
Heheheh got a couple PMs from PAers not impressed with you putting your pedestrian text in the quotes thread.
